Blueprint Dental and Sirotech announce strategic alliance

Chessington, UK – 21st October 2020 – Blueprint Dental Ltd and Sirotech Ltd are pleased to announce they have entered into a strategic alliance, combining Blueprint’s sales and service experience and expertise in both the UK dental surgery and laboratory markets with Sirotech’s expert service and support capability for Dentsply Sirona equipment. The alliance will also include Dentsply Sirona’s CEREC® range of CAD/CAM chairside reconstruction solutions.

DAC Universal S

The new DAC Universal S: All-in-one and all-round protection for cleaning, lubricating and sterilizing dental instruments

An effective practice reprocessing workflow for infection prevention in dentistry is a top priority worldwide. Hygiene systems with a clear and effective workflow are essential to guarantee a high level of safety for patients and practice teams. As the world’s largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, Dentsply Sirona offers solutions for the entire infection control workflow in dental practices and clinics that are designed to meet the different needs of each country. With the new sterilization function, the DAC Universal S completes the DAC Universal product portfolio.

Charlotte, NC (September 1, 2020) – Dentsply Sirona launched its new DAC Universal with a modern look and numerous changes based on the needs of the customers, e.g. Touch-Display, LAN interface, guided Check & Clean last year. This year the new DAC Universal S is ready to take things even further. The beneficial features of the DAC Universal are continued in the DAC Universal S and now supplemented with a complete sterilization function – especially for markets that require sterilization instead of a disinfection of unwrapped medical devices.

Comply with hygiene regulations by simply pressing a button

With two programs to choose from the automatic program selection of the DAC Universal S continues to provide maximum process reliability: The Pink Lid Program is specially designed for rotating instruments such as turbines, straight and contra-angle handpieces. The reprocessing process starts with a cold pre-wash. After an internal cleaning of the spray and gear channels a fully automatic lubrication follows. External cleaning with the pulse-wash method removes dirt and deposits from the outer surfaces of the instruments. The cleaning performance is excellent the results far exceed the standard values (80% better) required by the Robert Koch-Institute. Finally, instruments are sterilized at 134°C with three minutes holding time, and then cooled with cold air. The second program, the White Lid Program, is used for instruments that do not require lubrication: e.g. ultrasonic handpieces and tips or nozzles of multifunctional syringes and powder jet devices as well as powder jet handpieces. The cleaning steps are almost identical to the Pink Lid Program, but with lubrication step removed.

The DAC Universal S uses only demineralized water for all cleaning and sterilization steps, and does not require chemical cleaning agents, therefore preserving the lifespan of instruments. The guided maintenance workflow Check & Clean and the LAN interface for electronic documentation systems are also integrated into the DAC Universal S. The complete process takes approximately 21 minutes for each program – a fully compliant hygiene cycle with just a press of a single button.

“For me the DAC Universal S is the best solution on the market today for fast reprocessing of contra angles and turbines. Information given by the display is easy to understand as well as cycle time remaining”, explains Dental assistant Jane Mikkelsen, Hinnerup, Denmark. “The cleaning performance is very good and the sterilization function of the DAC Universal S fulfils our needs required in the sterilization process of unwrapped medical devices. A huge upgrade to the previous DAC Universal regarding total reprocessing time as the instruments are now cooled. The design of the lids of the new DAC Universal are excellent as risk of burns when touching are minimized.”

Service Offering

Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the COVID-19 virus, we felt it was important to reassure you our customers AND prospective customers that we remain operational and that our Technicians and Support Staff are working tirelessly to maintain service at this time, in every way possible.

We appreciate the difficulties you currently face with your patients and dental clients with concerns over cross infection and safety. We understand that it is paramount to decrease or even cease human contact at this time. We also appreciate that as a Dental Facility you operate in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything you do. Nevertheless, we like yourselves are paying particular attention to the latest government guidance on the transmission of Covid-19.

During this time, we continue to offer breakdown calls, regular servicing and workshop repairs but we will do everything we can to mitigate the risks. We understand the responsibility we have to ensure we keep contact to the very minimal but with your assistance we can combat the ability the virus has to grow within the community and at the same time keep you operational.

Protocol

We will ask prior arrival to be informed or guided by your own in-house policies. All our tools and any electronic items are disinfected between visits, as all our technicians are currently carrying disinfection wipes as well as being issued with personal PPE as standard.

Keep us in the loop if anything changes and we will do everything we can to accommodate, we are more than happy to reschedule as many times as you like, it also guarantees your equipment maintenance schedule as well as keeping us busy!!

COVID-19

As Covid-19 continues to spread we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of our current operating status and the steps we have taken to minimise any related negative impact on the service we offer.

The health and safety of our employees and customers is of paramount importance and like many UK businesses, we are closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 and following the advice provided by the UK’s health authorities.

Blueprint Dental Current Status

At the moment there have been no incidences of ill health relating to the virus among our staff, and we continue to receive deliveries from our suppliers as both delivery and postal/courier services are operating as normal.

Internal measures we are taking include:

  • increased frequency of cleaning all surfaces and high touch areas.
  • staff are continuing to be extra vigilant regarding personal hygiene and hand washing with access to sanitiser and hand washing facilities. Staff are reminded to regularly wash their hands, more often than usual.
  • we will exercise extra caution if any of our staff are feeling unwell or show any potential symptoms of COVID-19.
  • all engineering staff have been issued with gloves and sanitiser and have been told to use them on all jobs to minimise cross-infection.
